Gathering Place
Assembled Drawing, 12 framed drawings
approximate size 15 x 12 2010
“Gathering Place” is a drawing assembled of 12 separate drawings that together define an imagined landscape made possible by one body’s experience of various places; they serve as a gathering place of currently pertinent imagery. This meta-landscape derives from a pleasing duality of being reliant upon empirical experience and at the same time existing beyond phenomena. The spatial arrangement of the drawings present work produced around the same time and in response to a similar landscape. There’s a playful attempt to visually display the drawings in a kind of dialogue or conversation on the wall that relates how the imagery evolved in the studio.
